INTRODUCTION: 

In this project, we were tasked with creating a Hawaiian shirt from scratch using the template given to us. The theme was completely up to us to create.

MATERIALS:

Adobe Illustrator - this is where I created the Hawaiian shirt project, from start to finish.

Google - used for referencing the Hibiscus flower designs.

CREATIVE PROCESS: 

I knew I wanted to use a Hawaiian flower so i chose to use the Hibiscus flower. So i found one it was simple, beautiful and pink. I found my theme grey shirt with pink flowers. 

WORKFLOW: 

Firstly, I took the Hawaiian shirt template and set it to 50%. With my pen tool I outlined shirt, started from the back and working my way to the front, and making sure that every piece be a colour different from the rest. Once I made my shirt I started with the pattern.  

Next, I worked on the colours and pattern for the Hawaiian shirt itself. Originally, I was going to use a pink gradient, and i didn't like that idea. However, I kept the idea of using cool colours and went with grey and white, which, in my opinion, looks much better and makes the pattern pop more.

Once I add the pattern on it gave me a cool white rectangle which I thought looked nice and i went with it.  

Finally, for the logo, I took one look at my beautiful creation, I saw a small and simple design flowers like the one i use on the shirt itself with leaves, and took inspiration for the design and knew it went with my shirt. The Brand itself i made with a little help from a family member.

CONCLUSION: 

This project helped me get my Adobe Illustrator skills better than before. Although this assignment was super fun! Getting to make all the individual things and putting them together to see the final result is super amazing to me. If I were to do this project again I'd definitely make the pattern and the shirt itself much more detailed with plenty more colours or a different unique pattern.
